How to Apply

Applications are accepted through the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship application process. Applications are not accepted or considered outside of this route. Here is the application and interview process:

  1. Applicants should visit the SSO website for current and prospective fellows to review the timeline and application requirements.
  2. When ready to apply, applicants should use the SSO website to complete their application. A successful applicant will be one who will be completing (prior to fellowship) or previously completed an accredited ACGME or ACOGME general surgery residency, including being board-eligible or board certified. We do not accept applicants who are in mid-residency,  who are of non-General Surgery background, or who are not board eligible/certified.
  3. After a detailed review of completed applications, CVs, letters of recommendation, and personal statements, select applicants will be invited for an interview. For the 2023 application cycle, SSO has required virtual interviews with optional in-person site tours if requested.
  4. We participate in the SSO Match process for Breast Surgical Oncology fellowships and will submit a rank list upon completion of the interview process
