Congratulations on your choice of radiology as a career! On behalf of the Department of Radiology, thank you for your interest in our Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at the University of Kansas Medical Center. We currently offer a fully accredited 4-year training program in Diagnostic Radiology (6 residents per class). Our Diagnostic Radiology program has two positions per year for residents interested in Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR).
Graduates receive superb clinical training and are highly successful in obtaining coveted practice opportunities and prestigious fellowships throughout the country. In addition, our residents have a history of high achievement on the American Board of Radiology Core Examination. The talent and enthusiasm of our faculty and residents creates a learning environment that is stimulating and collegial. We believe in a "hands-on" learning environment for our trainees with a progressive increase in responsibility under close supervision by sub-specialty trained faculty. There is excellent resident-faculty interaction that emphasizes teaching while providing the highest quality patient care.
Our mission is to be the premier radiology residency program in the region that trains highly competent and compassionate radiologists by providing:
- a rich and diverse clinical experience,
- a comprehensive core didactic curriculum,
- exceptional mentoring.
We wish you the best of luck in selecting a residency program, and look forward to the opportunity to meet you!
