Methamphetamine Use Disorder Study
The University of Kansas Medical Center Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is conducting a clinical trial of an investigational drug combination to treat moderate to severe methamphetamine use disorder. Study participation can last up to 19 weeks and requires weekly, in-person visits, to the KU Med Center campus for follow-up and testing.
Qualified participants:
- Must use methamphetamine regularly and interested in reducing or stopping use
- Between 18 and 65 years of age
- Can NOT be currently or regularly using opioids
- Not currently enrolled in formal behavioral or pharmacological treatment for substance use disorder
** IMPORTANT: participants cannot be physically dependent on opioids due to the risk of a negative drug reaction**
Qualified participants will receive all study-related medications and procedures at no cost.

Sublocade Long-Term Outcomes
This observational study is looking at the long-term outcomes in individuals adults with Opioid Use Disorder.
Type of Study: Observational
Who can participate: Individuals with a diagnosis of Opioid Use Disorder/Opioid Dependence who have initiated treatment with SUBLOCADE within the past 3 months
How long is participation: Up to 4 years*
Is there compensation? Yes
Have you started receiving SUBLOCADE® for treatment of Opioid Use Disorder?
You may be eligible for an observational study looking at the long-term outcomes in adults with Opioid Use Disorder (Opioid Dependence).
You may qualify if:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- Have initiated treatment for Opioid Use Disorder/Opioid Dependence with SUBLOCADE® within the past 3 months.
- Are willing and able to provide informed consent for the study.
Participation Involves:
- Regular follow-ups with your treating doctor will continue as usual.
- No extra medications or clinic visits required for the study.
- Information will be collected during your regular visits or from medical records.
- Study questionnaires to be completed at home or during your clinic visits.
- Compensation is available.

RECOVER (Bipolar Depression)
The RECOVER Study is a research study that will provide new information about how helpful VNS Therapy (Vagal Nerve Stimulation) is for patients with bipolar depression that has been difficult to treat.
- Type of study: Interventional (Investigational Device)
- Who can participate: Individuals with Bipolar Depression, considered Treatment Resistant (have tried at least four antidepressant treatments and not found helpful), ages 18 or older
- How long is participation: 1-4 years*
- Is there compensation? Yes
KU Autism Research Study
The KU Center on Autism Research and Training (KCART) is recruiting for a study that examines the effects of a medication named Pimavanserin on behavioral rigidity and restrictive repetitive behavior within individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD.
- Type of study: Interventional (Investigational Drug)
- Who can participate: Individuals with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, ages 16-40; must have a caregiver who is willing to help complete study activities
- How long is participation:10 weeks, 6 study visits

FXS Trials (Fragile X Syndrome)
Two studies are recruiting males aged 9 to 45 to participate in potential registration trials for new treatment for FXS, to be followed by a 2-year open-label extension study in which all subjects will receive active treatment
- Type of study: Interventional (Investigational Drug)
- Who can participate: Adolescent males, ages 9-17, weighing ≥ to 55lbs and ≤ to 97th percentile of BMI for age; adult males, ages 18-45, with BMI between 18-36 kg/m2
- How long is participation: 13 weeks
- Is there compensation? Yes
