Undergraduate Medical Education

Medical student education is at the core of our department's mission.

We provide quality learning opportunities in behavioral sciences, neurosciences and psychiatry sub-specialties.

Our faculty is passionate about and engaged in medical education throughout the four-year curriculum of the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Our department sponsors coursework in behavioral sciences for second-year students. The Psychiatry Clerkship for third-year medical students is a core component of medical education and provides an introduction to clinical care in the neurosciences. For fourth-year students, our department offers various elective courses in psychiatry sub-specialties and psychiatric research.
