About RADx-UP Kansas
RADx-UP Kansas is a joint venture led by community partners and the University of Kansas Medical Center. Our project works with local health departments, community health centers, and health coalitions within 10 Kansas counties to form Local Health Equity Action Teams (LHEATs) in order to address COVID-19 testing-related inequities for underserved populations.
Efforts include increasing access to COVID-19 testing resources, decreasing barriers to following best practice recommendations to reduce the spread within affected communities, increasing accurate COVID-19 messaging via website, social media and other communication channels, and mobilizing communities to better prepare them once vaccinations are widely available.
Collaborating Across Kansas
KU Medical Center will partner with the labeled counties in the above map to create Local Health Equity Action Teams.
Many communities across Kansas are already doing amazing work to increase COVID-19 testing and communication with underserved populations! RADx-UP Kansas will utilize existing coalition infrastructure to establish collaborative relationships across Kansas. By working together and sharing strategies, the members of our Learning Collaborative will support each other, address the unique needs of each community, and work to meet the goal of strengthening the health of all our communities through increasing COVID-19 testing.
Participating counties in Kansas are Crawford, Douglas, Finney, Johnson, Lyon, Riley, Saline, Sedgwick, Seward, and Wyandotte.
