Scope

We are issuing this call for papers for a special themed issue of the Journal of Clinical and Translational Science, which will seek to refine the research agenda, measures, methods and training opportunities needed to advance research among CTSA-affiliated investigators on the health and social drivers of criminal legal system involvement and health inequities as related to mass incarceration. With the recent emphasis on the role of correctional facilities on outbreaks and disease transmission for COVID-19, there is an even more urgent need to better understand disease risk mitigation and the drivers of health disparities. This themed issue intends to provide critical updates to important research among people with criminal-legal system involvement with articles varying from epidemiology of chronic illness and COVID-19, compassionate release, mental health and more.
