Patient Care

Our faculty physicians provide patient care at The University of Kansas Hospital, meeting both simple and complex plastic surgery patient needs. Our academic medical center environment provides our residents and fellows a state-of-the-art setting to learn alongside expert surgeons representing all the major plastic surgery disciplines, including craniofacial, microsurgery, hand, burn and aesthetic surgery. For additional information about clinical care, please visit The University of Kansas Health System.

Craniofacial

Our fellowship trained craniofacial surgeons provide the full spectrum of services from infants to the elderly for their craniofacial needs. We have experience in cleft lip and palates, craniosynostosis and surgical interventions for congenital anomalies for infants. We also specialize in adult craniofacial care, such as reconstruction after cancer resection, jaw surgery, TMJ pathologies and facial trauma.

Microsurgery

By harnessing the power of the microscope, our team of microsurgery-trained reconstructive surgeons care for patients' most complex needs. We are the Midwest regional hub for autologous breast reconstruction, specialized in DIEP free flaps for post-mastectomy reconstruction, using the patient's own tissue to reconstruct what is lost. Our team of surgeons also specialize in reconstruction for limb salvage after major traumas. We are also the regional leader in lymphedema surgery, using the latest techniques and equipment to care for patients.

Hand

Our fellowship-trained hand surgeons are here to treat both routine and complex hand and upper extremity hand pathologies. From carpal tunnel syndrome to major hand and upper extremity traumas, we provide expert clinical care. We are the regional center for dealing with complex brachial plexus and other nerve injuries.
