Professional Background

I was born and raised in Kolkata, India where I received my bachelor’s engineering degree majoring in Biotechnology from University of Engineering and Management Kolkata in 2021 where I worked on natural compound formulations against oral pathogens. I received my master’s in Biological Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar in 2023 where I worked on the role of Transposons in genetic instability and cancers. I moved to the United States in 2024 and joined IGPBS at The University of Kansas Medical Center Kansas City and subsequently joined Dr. Qi Chen’s research group in the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Therapeutics. My research focuses on the role of Quinoline derivative compound on Pancreatic cancer therapy.

Research

Overview

Pancreatic cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in the United States particularly due to high malignancy and poor therapeutic efficacy. I study the effect of a quinoline derivate compound on the inhibition of metastasis and migration of Pancreatic cancer. I investigate the effect on differential expression and signaling pathways involved in Epithelial-to-Mesenchymal Transition upon treatment. Future studies will investigate drug delivery and studies on molecular targets and downstream signaling cascades effected upon treatments.
