Professional Background

I was born and raised in Hunan, China, where I spent my formative years. My educational journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Medical Examination Technology from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This foundational experience instilled in me a deep appreciation for the intricacies of clinical medical examination laboratories. Subsequently, I pursued a Master's degree in Pathology and Pathophysiology at Hunan Normal University, where I delved into understanding the role of SIRT7 in alcohol-associated liver cancer metastasis.

My academic pursuits merged my clinical background with scientific exploration, enriching my understanding of medical research. It became evident that my true passion lay in the realm of scientific inquiry, prompting me to embark on a Ph.D. journey. Seeking to amplify my competence, I resolved to undertake interdisciplinary studies, leading me to my current focus on pharmacology.

In 2022, I became part of the IGPBS at KUMC. Joining Dr. Ding’s lab in July 2022, I began delving into the intricate pathways of Alcohol-related liver disease, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and liver cancer. My objective is to uncover novel mechanisms that underlie these liver conditions, with the ultimate goal of developing innovative strategies for their treatment.

My cumulative experiences have shaped my trajectory, fusing clinical insights with scientific curiosity. As I navigate the realm of pharmacology, I am driven by a resolute commitment to deciphering the complexities of liver diseases and contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge.
