Parents

Interested in Supporting Your Child’s Early Language Development?

We are excited to invite families to participate in a research study designed to support early childhood language and literacy development!

Our program, Talk With Me Baby (TWMB), is a free, research-backed initiative that helps parents create a strong language-learning environment for their child. The study takes place in participating clinics in Kansas City and Atlanta areas and follows families through their child’s routine visits from 1 month to 24 months old.

Why Join?

  • Participate easily through your regular pediatric visits—no extra appointments needed!
  • Help researchers understand how to best support families like yours in early childhood development.
  • Participants are eligible to receive up to $300 for completing all study measures.

Who Can Participate?

Your family may qualify if:

  • Your child is 0-2 months old and will attend well-child visits at a participating clinic.
  • Your family speaks English and/or Spanish at home.
  • Your child was born full-term (after 37 weeks).
  • Families will be enrolled before their child’s 2-month well-child visit and will be followed through their regular check-ups.

What does my participation involve?

  • Attend regular well-child visits
  • Complete online surveys and other study activities from your home until your child turns 2
