• The University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) Pathology Residency participates in the Pathology Residency Program Interview Offer Release Date. We will release interview offers NO EARLIER than Thursday, October 15^th, 2026 at 3:00 PM CST (4:00 PM EST).
• The KUMC Pathology Residency participates in Program Signaling. Program Signals, along with all application materials, are used to help determine which applicants are invited to interview. Applicants with a genuine interest in our program should use a Program Signal to express their interest. (If you are a KU Medical Center student and/or have rotated with the KU Medical Center Pathology Residency, we still ask that you signal our program to convey your interest).
• KU Medical Center Pathology Residency candidate interviews will occur virtually using Zoom. Interview invitations, scheduling and details are through ThalamusGME
• On interview day, candidates will:
  • Receive an overview of the program by Katie Dennis, M.D., AP/CP Residency Program Director.
  • Be interviewed by members of the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine's clinical faculty and KCVA faculty.
  • Meet with current residents to ask any questions about resident life at KUMC.

Application information for U.S. Medical School Graduates

• Applications only accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
• USMLE first-attempt pass rate is preferred
• For D.O. students, COMLEX scores are accepted. First-attempt pass rate is preferred
• Graduation from medical school within the past 10 years
• Minimum of 3 Letters of Recommendation from medical school faculty, submitted directly through ERAS
• Personal Statement & CV submitted with ERAS application

Application information for International Medical Graduates (IMGs)

• Applications only accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
• USMLE first-attempt pass rate is preferred
• Graduation from medical school within the past 10 years
• Minimum of 3 Letters of Recommendation from medical school faculty and/or Pathologists you worked with on U.S. clinical rotations
• Personal Statement & CV submitted with ERAS application
• Must be ECFMG certified at time of ranking
