Application information for U.S. Medical School Graduates

  • Applications only accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
  • Recommend USMLE scores above 200
  • For D.O. students, COMLEX scores are accepted (recommend above 480)
  • Graduation from medical school within the past 10 years
  • Minimum of 3 Letters of Recommendation from medical school faculty, submitted directly through ERAS
  • Personal Statement & CV submitted with ERAS application

Application information for International Medical Graduates (IMGs)

  • Applications only accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
  • USMLE scores above 200
  • Graduation from medical school within the past 10 years
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation from medical school faculty and/or Pathologists you worked with on U.S. clinical internships
  • Personal Statement & CV submitted with ERAS application
  • Must have ECFMG certificate at time of ranking

For MATCH Season 2023-2024

  • Pathology residency candidate interviews will take place virtually via Zoom on specific Saturdays in November and January. Interview invitations and scheduling will be conducted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
  • Candidates will be interviewed by members of the department’s clinical faculty and KCVA faculty.
  • Prior to interviews, candidates will receive an overview of the program by Katie Dennis, M.D., AP/CP Residency Program Director.
