Application information for U.S. Medical School Graduates
- Applications only accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
- USMLE first-attempt pass rate is preferred
- For D.O. students, COMLEX scores are accepted. First-attempt pass rate is preferred
- Graduation from medical school within the past 10 years
- Minimum of 3 Letters of Recommendation from medical school faculty, submitted directly through ERAS
- Personal Statement & CV submitted with ERAS application
Application information for International Medical Graduates (IMGs)
- Applications only accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
- USMLE first-attempt pass rate is preferred
- Graduation from medical school within the past 10 years
- Minimum of 3 Letters of Recommendation from medical school faculty and/or Pathologists you worked with on U.S. clinical rotations
- Personal Statement & CV submitted with ERAS application
- Must be ECFMG certified at time of ranking

For MATCH 2026
- The KUMC Pathology Residency is participates in the Pathology Residency Program Interview Offer Release Date. We will release interview offers NO EARLIER than Wednesday, October 15th, 2025 at 3:00 PM CST (4:00 PM EST).
- The KUMC Pathology Residency participates in Program Signaling. Program Signals, along with all application materials, are used to help determine which applicants are invited to interview. Applicants with a genuine interest in our program should use a Program Signal to express their interest. (If you are a KUMC student and/or have rotated with the KUMC Pathology Residency, we still ask that you signal our program to convey your interest).
- KU Medical Center Pathology Residency candidate interviews will occur virtually using Zoom.. Interview invitations, scheduling and details are through ThalamusGME
- On interview day, candidates will:
- Receive an overview of the program by Katie Dennis, M.D., AP/CP Residency Program Director.
- Be interviewed by members of the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine's clinical faculty and KCVA faculty.
- Meet with current residents to ask any questions about resident life at KU Medical Center.
