Sub-I/Externship
Explore your educational options with us through a sub-internship/externship in neurosurgery.
The University of Kansas Medical Center Department of Neurosurgery held in-person resident applicant interviews for the 2023-2024 interview season (for matched applicants who would start July 1, 2024). We anticipate we will hold in-person interviews again for the 2024-2025 interview season (for matched applicants starting July 1, 2025). We are proud to offer visiting fourth-year medical students a chance to learn more about the neurosurgery specialty and our training program at KU Medical Center.
During a four-week rotation, you will:
- Rotate with our cranial and spine services at The University of Kansas Health System.
- Observe operating room procedures and clinic visits.
- Visit interventional suites and the ICU.
- Participate in academic conferences and other educational activities.
- Meet and engage with our faculty.
Fall 2024 four-week rotations
June: June 3 – 29, 2024
July: July 1 – 27, 2024
August: July 29 – August 24, 2024
September: August 26 – September 21, 2024
October: September 23 – October 19, 2024
November: October 21 – November 16, 2024
December: November 18 – December 14, 2024
