SPECIAL NOTICE: The University of Kansas Medical Center Department of Neurosurgery is reviewing interview options (virtual or in person) based on direction from our governing boards and our institutional Office of Graduate Medical Education. Interviews will occur during the 2021-22 academic year for residency positions beginning July 1, 2022. Please contact Margaret Minea at mminea2@kumc.edu for more information, including virtual opportunities to learn about the program.
We are proud to offer visiting fourth-year medical students a chance to learn more about the neurosurgery specialty and our training program at KU Medical Center.
During a four-week rotation, you will:
- Rotate with our cranial and spine services at The University Kansas Health System
- Observe operating room procedures and clinic visits
- Visit interventional suites and the ICU
- Participate in academic conferences and other educational activities
- Meet and engage with our faculty

You can apply to our Sub-Internship/Externship through the Visiting Student Application Service beginning in mid-March.
