Yasmin Khakoo to present this year's Pardo Lecture
A board-certified pediatric neurologist and neuro-oncologist, Yasmin Khakoo, M.D., will present at the annual lecture on March 28.

Yasmin Khakoo, M.D., FAAN, FCNS, FAAP, a board-certified pediatric neurologist and neuro-oncologist, will be the featured speaker at the University of Kansas Department of Neurology's seventh annual Lillian Pardo, M.D. Pediatric Neurology Lecture at 8 a.m. on Friday, March 28.
Dr. Khakoo is the director of the Child Neurology Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, specializing in the prevention and treatment of nervous system complications in young patients receiving treatment for brain tumors and other cancers. She has also served as the editor-in-chief of “Pediatric Neurology,” a peer-reviewed medical journal, since 2022.
“It’s truly an honor to be speaking as part of this lecture series,” Dr. Khakoo said. “Lillian Pardo is an iconic figure for many of us in the field of pediatric neurology, so being bestowed with this honor is a wonderful moment.”
Dr. Khakoo's lecture, "A Team Sport: Connecting the Dots to Understand Neurocutaneous Melanocytosis," will take place in Clendening Auditorium on the University of Kansas Medical Center's main campus. Those interested in attending from afar can tune in virtually using this Zoom link.
The annual lectureship was established by Pardo, professor emerita in pediatrics and neurology at KU Medical Center, alongside her husband, Manuel P. Pardo, M.D. Now in its seventh year, the lectureship aims to inspire today's student, residents and young faculty in ways that visiting professors similarly inspired Pardo during her medical education and academic medical center career.
