The University of Kansas Medical Center Department of Neurology presented the 10th annual Neurology Update Course 2020, Feb. 15 at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel at the Convention Center in Overland Park, Kansas.

The annual event, designed to highlight the latest advancements and insights related to innovative neurological treatments, drew 115 neurologists and others involved in treatment and research in the neurosciences.

This year's course provided evidence-based educational tracks in stroke, headache management, epilepsy and Parkinson's disease, allowing participants to customize their course experience by selecting the tracks of greatest interest to them.

"We were pleased to see this year's meeting was once again well received by neurologists and other clinical neuroscience specialists," said Gary S. Gronseth, M.D., FAAN, chair of the Department of Neurology at KU Medical Center. "Our expanded course offerings with individual sessions in four educational tracks gave participants a chance to truly personalize their education. We look forward to continuing to provide high quality professional development opportunities to our colleagues both locally and nationally."

The slate of academic-affiliated presenters included faculty from the KU Medical Center departments of neurology, rehabilitation medicine education, internal medicine and anesthesiology. Guest presenters included experts from Hearing and Balance Specialists of Kansas City, Novant Health Neurology & Sleep, Harvard Medical School, and Meritas Health and Kansas City Medicine and Biosciences.
