Georgette Dib, M.D., is the featured speaker during the Department of Neurology Grand Rounds on Friday, April 12, 2024. Dib is a neuromuscular fellow at the KU Medical Center. She earned her M.D. in neurology and completed her residency in neurology both at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, Beirut, Lebanon.

On Friday, she will discuss the misdiagnosis of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIPD), and the 2021 European Academy of Neurology (EAN); and Peripheral Nerve Society (PNS) guidelines and recommendations.

CIDP (chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy) is a rare neurological condition that causes worsening (progressive) muscle weakness, numbness and other symptoms.

The presentation is from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Clendening Auditorium in Robinson at the KU Medical Center, 3901 Rainbow Blvd., Kansas City, Kansas.
