Department of Neurology faculty, residents honored at A Grand Affair celebration
The annual gala celebrates outstanding mentoring and teaching at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
On Saturday, January 17, the University of Kansas School of Medicine held its annual gala, A Grand Affair. The event, hosted by the Medical Student Assembly and KU School of Medicine Office of Student Affairs, gathers medical students, faculty, alumni, community and friends from the Kansas City, Salina and Wichita campuses to celebrate achievements in medical education.
At this year’s event, several faculty and residents in the Department of Neurology were recognized for their outstanding work in teaching and mentoring.
- Gary Gronseth, M.D., department chair and professor, received a Catalyst for Curiosity award.
- Tara Samiee, D.O., a PGY-4 resident, received the Outstanding Resident in Neurology award.
- Matthew Varon, M.D., assistant professor, received the Outstanding Attending in Neurology award.
