Facilities

In an effort to ensure the highest quality educational experience, our medical students, residents and fellows train at excellent facilities in the Kansas City area.

The University of Kansas Health System and The University of Kansas Hospital

The University of Kansas Medical Center partners with The University of Kansas Health System, a premier academic medical center, to provide an excellent training facility for medical students, residents and fellows for every one of the medical center’s clinical departments, including Neurology.

Located in a diverse metropolitan area, The University of Kansas Hospital is a Level I trauma center and home to an accredited Level 4 epilepsy center, a certified advanced comprehensive stroke center and nationally recognized centers of excellence for ALS, Alzheimer’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease.

Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center

A state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facility with modern medical, coronary and surgical intensive care units, the Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center is a large tertiary care hospital located approximately 6 miles east of KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Staff physicians and consultants of the Department of Neurology at the Kansas City VA hold faculty appointments with KU Medical Center.

Dwight D. Eisenhower Veterans Affairs Medical Center

The Dwight D. Eisenhower Veterans Affairs Medical Center is a general medicine and surgical hospital, long-term care facility and domiciliary located within easy driving distance of the KU Medical Center’s Kansas City campus in Leavenworth, Kansas. In addition to Neurology residents, house staff from the departments of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Rehabilitation Medicine, Psychiatry and Family Medicine rotate at this medical center.

Children’s Mercy Hospital

Children’s Mercy Hospital is a nationally recognized, freestanding, state-of-the-art children's hospital located 5 miles east of KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. CMH regularly serves children and families from six states in addition to patients and families from the broader United States and across the world.
