Dr. Spikes leads the Pulmonary Hypertension, COVID/Post-COVID, and Sepsis Clinical Research Unit, and has extensive experience in conducting Pharmaceutical, NIH, and Investigator-Initiated Trials.

Translational Research:

Dr. Nicholas Britt, PharmD, MS, BCPS, BCIDP
Assistant Professor of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor of Medicine.

Dr. Britt is a dual-faculty researcher with the University of Kansas Medical Center and KU-Lawrence. In addition, Dr. Britt holds a joint appointment at the Veterans Affairs Eastern Kansas Health Care System in research.

Dr. Navneet Dhillon, Ph.D.
Division Director of Pulmonary Research, Professor of Medicine

Dr. Dhillon is an internal leader in studying disorders of the pulmonary circulatory system with an emphasis in cellular and molecular pathogenesis of HIV infection-induced pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Dhillon has been very successful in securing extramural funding from the NIH and the American Heart Association.
