Quantitative CT

Quantitative CT (QCT) analysis provides single or multiple CT image-based assessment of multiscale structural and functional features of human and animal respiratory systems. CT-based computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of gas flow and particle transport further characterize regional lung functions under various breathing patterns and regional distribution of pharmaceutical and environmental particles. Hyperpolarized Xenon MRI

Normally invisible to MRI, xenon gas can be "hyperpolarized" to be made visible to an MRI scanner. This hyperpolarized MRI contrast agent is then inhaled and imaged during a short (<16 seconds) breath-hold. Imaging of xenon gas in the lungs provides non-invasive and ionizing radiation-free quantification of lung structure and function.
