Thanks to the many partnerships across the health system and the Kansas City metro, our Palliative Medicine Division is dedicated to training and empowering leaders of the future, providing specialty level Hospice and Palliative Care for complex cases, investing in research to advance the field, and fostering important changes in our health care delivery system. Several of our programs and partnerships focus on the inter-professional team, training medical students, residents, fellow physicians, social workers, nurses, etc., across the spectrum of specialties at our institution, empowering them to compassionately and skillfully manage the tough situations and conversations they face with their patients and families. Thank you for joining us in support of high quality Palliative Care.

"I think the biggest diference I have seen Palliative Care make is the trust that effective communication and rapport building creates with patients, families, and with medical team members. We meet people at such vulnerable times in their lives and seeing firsthand how a calm, steady presence and willingess to walk with someone through some of the darkest places of an illness can really make a difference, earning their trust and hopefully making their experience a little less hard.
