About Obesity Medicine
Obesity is a chronic disease that has become a global epidemic. Thirty years ago, the prevalence of obesity in the United States was less than 20%. Today, over 70% of our population is affected by excess weight.
Obesity can impact an individual's overall health, quality of life and well-being, and it is associated with increased risk for many other health conditions, including diabetes, heart disease and stroke. In fact, obesity is correlated to over one hundred other health conditions, many of which improve with obesity treatments.
