Medical informatics faculty and staff are dedicated to developing innovative informatics solutions including data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to support and accelerate translational and clinical research.
Dr. Diego Mazzotti's current research interests focus on the application of innovative methods to the analysis of high-dimensional physiological, behavioral, genetic and epidemiological data in sleep and sleep disorders, to understand how they can be translated into clinical knowledge and into applications that can advance healthcare
Dr. Jeffrey Thompson's research covers helping facilitate clinical research through improving research informatics infrastructure, and he is researching ways to create holistic cancer models that integrate a range of molecular data to improve prognostic modeling, in order to better understand cancer etiology.
Dr. Guoqing Chen's research interests are in the areas of quality improvement, mobile-based care delivery, outcomes and health services research, and economic evaluation in medicine
