Cancer Site Specific Teams
Blood and Marrow Transplant procedures are life-saving treatments for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and other related blood diseases. KU Medical Center faculty are part of the region's largest BMT and acute leukemia program.
Patient Care from KU Cancer Center
The Blood and Marrow Transplant program at KU was established in 1977. Today, at The University of Kansas Cancer Center, the program continues to expand and provide more life-saving treatments.
Our physician faculty are proud to be part of the region's largest BMT & acute leukemia program. Visit KU Cancer Center for more information about different hematologic cancers and treatments:

Fellowship Training
Our team also trains Hematology Oncology Fellows, and we offer a one year BMT Fellowship Program. The program offers experience working alongside experts in the field.
"The success we continue to achieve with the BMT program is due to our outstanding physicians, clinical staff and support staff. Working as a team, we are able to save more lives every day."- Joseph McGuirk, DO, BMT medical director.
