Positions
The Division of Dermatology at the University of Kansas Health System offers 5 positions each year.
Application Process
- MyERAS application
- Personal Statement
- Medical School Transcripts
- Letters of Recommendation - at least 3
- Medical School Performance Evaluation (MSPE or "Dean's Letter")
- USMLE transcripts and/or COMLEX-USA transcripts
- An Internal Medicine Chair or Departmental letter is optional
All appointments are made through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Candidates must register through the NRMP website. Personal interviews are by invitation only and are based on the applicant's academic performance, United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) scores and/or COMLEX-USA scores, letters of recommendation and other accomplishments as detailed in the ERAS application.
We participate in program signaling through ERAS. We follow the guidelines from the Association of Professor of Dermatology (APD) including coordinated interview invitation release. Typically we release interview invitations in mid November.
If selected for an interview, applicants will be notified by email. We are unable to provide applicants with a status report regarding their application or selection for interview.
Applicants should complete USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK exams (or equivalent COMLEX exams) and release their scores to ensure that we can view the results of these exams before the NRMP rank list deadline in mid-February.
Interview Process
We interview ~50 applicants for our 5 positions. Interviews will be offered in a virtual environment.
Interviews are typically conducted on selected Thursdays in January.
On the night before your scheduled interview, there will be a virtual welcome session where you can informally meet our residents.
