Welcome to University of Kansas Dermatology and thank you for your interest in our residency program. Our mission is to use a supportive learning environment to train competent and compassionate physicians to deliver evidence-based high quality care.

At KU, we are striving to provide excellent and diverse clinical training and prepare our residents for their next professional step, whether it’s academic medicine, private practice, or a dermatology specialty fellowship. Rotations at various sites are specifically designed to provide our residents a well-rounded experience. Our main training sites include KU Medical Center, an academic tertiary care referral center with > 1000-beds, Children Mercy Hospital, a renowned children’s hospital, and Kansas City Veterans Administration hospital.

Our program endeavors to recognize strength and interest of each resident and provide personalized learning plans and mentorship to encourage professional development. In addition, we place special emphasis on resident wellness and helping our residents find a good work-life balance.

Kansas City is a fast-growing metropolitan area with affordable living, excellent job opportunities, professional sports and vibrant city life including restaurants, art and cultural activities.

Overall, our program provides an ideal location to train with a diverse patient population, engaging faculty members and a family-friendly atmosphere.
