As a major center of scholarly endeavor – regionally, nationally, and internationally – this department of the medical school of the University of Kansas has made a commitment to focus attention on Medicine in the First World War during the period of centennial observances, from 2014 until 2018. Associated with The Clendening (Rare Books) Library and The Archives of The medical center, and with four full-time faculty and a score of adjunct and volunteer medical school faculty, the resources to create and maintain this website are substantial. Scholars of all aspects of Medical History are invited to participate in this website by submission of relevant one-thousand-word essays for consideration for inclusion in the section denoted as Essays.
