Overview

July 2009 - April 2016 Member, Administrative Leadership and Management committees of both Truman Medical Center - Behavioral Health (TMC-BH), and Truman Medical Center, the largest safety net provider in Kansas City, MO.

Patient Relations Liaison for Behavioral Health: report to Corporate Grievance Committee monthly; supervise back-up staff, present documentation of patient complaints resolution process during CMS and TJC audits. Conduct tracers for Truman Medical Center- Behavioral Health compliance with The Joint Commission accreditation requirements. Write grants and award applications for programs in Behavioral Health. Facilitate research activities conducted with TMC-BH clients. Oversee Professional Services Agreements with TMC - Behavioral Health sub-contractors, Operation Breakthrough and The Mattie Rhodes Center. Track billing, training, and regulatory compliance for The Mattie Rhodes Counseling Center. Conduct TMC new employee orientation in Mental Health First Aid. 2015- 2016 Analyze outcomes from collaboration with Health Literacy Missouri and TMC-BH funded by the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City.
2011- 2012 Coordination of research collaboration between TMC - HH, TMC-BH and Missouri Health Equity Researchers on access to care for immigrants, refugees and people with serious and persistent mental illness, who may be uninsured. Helped guide through UMKC IRB, develop protocol, establish relationships and recruit clients and patients for survey, from respective departments.
2007-2009 Project Manager: Planned and implemented a research program for high school seniors and college freshman, in collaboration with the University of Kansas Medical Center Library. I supervised students from KC, KS in research methods, guided their research on best practices for assignments for each module as well as the 28 target areas of Health People 2010 for use in developing assignments on race / ethnicity and health inequities or cultural responsiveness at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
