Professional Background

Dr. Feehan completed his undergraduate training at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, and then graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1984.

He completed his family medicine residency training with Goppert Family Care at Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Dr. Feehan has had the opportunity to be a small group employee, a small group shareholder, and an employee of Olathe Health, all within the same practice. He was the director for the KU Family Medicine Residency Track in Olathe from 1994-2001. During this time, he completed the NIPDD program. He is excited to continue to see graduates from the residency track continuing to provide care in our community.

Dr. Feehan has been active in leadership roles both within the Olathe Health system, and in the professional community. He enjoyed serving as President of the Olathe Medical Center Medical Staff in 2015-2016. He served as President of the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians in 2017-2018. During his term as President of the KAFP he focused on the importance of wellness and well-being of the family physician members of the KAFP. In addition, he very much appreciated the opportunity to serve for four years on the AAFP Commission on Member and Member Services.

Dr. Feehan has served as the Ambulatory Medical Director for the Olathe Health/The University of Kansas Health System Southwest Kansas City clinics since 2020.

A focus throughout his clinical practice, since 1987, has been the importance of facilitating change in the clinic to support the needs of the patient, the community and the clinic.  He has been a strong advocate for patient-centered quality care. His practice was the secpnd clinic in Kansas to become certified by the NCQA. The practice and Olathe Health have continued to grow value-based care through participation in NCQA, then CPC+ and most recently in Primary Care First.

Dr. Feehan is home grown, having grown up in Westwood, Kansas. He and his wife, Deb, enjoy time with their four adult children and six grandchildren. Additionally,  he enjoys spending time outdoors. He enjoys folk music, especially Irish/Celtic folk music. He is a bagpiper with the Kansas City St. Andrews Pipes & Drums. As the oldest of 11, he looks forward to time with his parents and his siblings.
