Graduate student stipends are awarded to qualified applicants. Currently, recipients receive $38,500 per year (academic year 2024-25), and tuition is either waived or paid by the student's mentor. The recipient is responsible for incidental fees of approximately $422 per semester.

Fees are set by the Kansas Board of Regents and are subject to change annually. Students are provided financial assistance to attend national science meetings. Students are required to have health insurance coverage, and university-sponsored plans are available.
