Admission

Ph.D. students in the basic sciences at the KU School of Medicine are admitted through the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences (IGPBS).  During the first year, IGPBS students complete a core curriculum, which includes rotations within individual faculty research labs.  By the end of the Spring semester of the first year, students choose a research mentor and join the mentor’s department.  Students obtain GRA or GTA positions within their chosen department beginning the Fall semester of their second year in the program.

Applications to Graduate School may be made online at:  Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences (IGPBS).

The complete application process and admission requirements for the Cell Biology and Anatomy Graduate Program can be found in the University Academic Catalog.
