Professional Background

After graduating with my bachelor's degree, I was determined to study metastasis in-depth. When I searched "metastasis," the name Danny Welch caught my attention. I researched KU Medical Center and applied for the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences (IGPBS). I, fortunately, became a grad student in the Welch Lab in June 2018 after finishing my first year. Currently, I am at the very first steps of my Ph.D. project and hope to complete it in the next four years. My goal is to understand metastasis as thoroughly as I can, modestly contribute some knowledge to the field and communicate science with experts and lay audiences. Working with supportive lab members and taking advantage of many academic and nonacademic events on and off campus is beyond my original plan. I hope to make the best of my grad school time at KU Medical Center.
