Graduate Student - Prasad Dandawate Lab
Professional Background
Biology is amazing, when I read about the molecular level, it is fascinating! I always wanted to find out everything about how biology works, what makes it work, and what makes it stop working; this curiosity triggered me opting Biology as a major in my senior year of high school. Eventually, I decided to study more topics during my graduation time. I chose chemistry, biology, and physics during my undergraduate and zoology as my major for post-graduate studies. I was intrigued and decided to work on graduate research in the same area. I received an opportunity in the department of cancer biology at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) under the mentorship of Dr. Shrikant Anant, Dr. Scott Weir. I currently work with Dr. Prasad Dandawate as a research technician in cancer biology and drug repurposing. Presently, I am perusing the IGPBS program at KUMC. My research interest involves understanding key signaling pathways in esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) and how targeting those with natural or synthetic compounds will contribute to the treatment of EAC patients.
