Omar Tinoco
Graduate Student - Bossmann Lab
otinoco@kumc.eduProfessional Background
I am from Marshall, MO, a small town where I completed my B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at Missouri Valley College. My academic journey included a pivotal summer internship at the University of Kansas Medical Center, under the guidance of Dr. Udayan Apte in the Department of Toxicology, Pharmacology, and Therapeutics. There, I investigated the impact of O-GlcNAcylation on the liver toxicity of perfluorinated alkyl substances.
This experience inspired me to further pursue my studies at KUMC, where I am currently part of the Department of Cancer Biology. Under the mentorship of Dr. Stefan Bossmann, my research is focused on developing innovative delivery systems for various types of cancer.
