IPA, Software, Department of Biostatistics & Data Science

Ingenuity Pathways Analysis enables scientists (e.g., biologists, geneticists, bioinformaticians) to identify the most relevant biological mechanisms, pathways, and functions to their experimental datasets or genes of interest. IPA helps researchers:

  • Easily search the scientific literature
  • Build dynamic pathway models
  • Quickly analyze experimental data
  • Share research and collaborate

Some Applications:

  • Biomarker Discovery
  • Metabolomics
  • MicroRNA Research
  • Proteomics
  • Toxicogenomics
  • Transcriptomics
  • Causal Network Analysis

Software Access

Please read the IPA User Agreement and  Register Here to receive access instructions. Access is Web-based and password-dependent. To use IPA, you agree to be subject to and abide by the KUMC IPA User Agreement. Willful violation of this agreement will be treated as misconduct and subject to appropriate disciplinary action.

Access to IPA is only available for KUMC faculty, BISR faculty/staff and K-INBRE Bioinformatics Cores (KSU, KUM C, KU-L). Other user access is limited and at the discretion of Dr. Byron Gajewski, bgajewski@kumc.edu Director BISR and Dr. Devin Koestler, dkoestler@kumc.edu Associate Director BISR.

To reserve time on IPA, please use Bookkit.

If you have any questions regarding logging into IPA, please contact Dinesh Pal Mudaranthakam at dmudaranthakam@kumc.edu.

If you have any questions regarding how to use IPA, please click here: IPA Online Tutorials

If you still need help after following these tutorials, please contact Megan Tremblay at mtremblay@kumc.edu and she will set up a meeting with a staff member within the K-INBRE Bioinformatics Core or BISR to help you with your analyses.

How to Cite IPA for Manuscripts

This software/service is provided by the K-INBRE KUMC Bioinformatics Core and the Biostatistics and Informatics Shared Resource (BISR), University of Kansas Cancer Center (KUCC).

If you use IPA to generate results that are reported in a manuscript, please do not forget to cite both the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) and the K-INBRE award as both grants partially support our IPA license. You may copy and paste the statement below for this purpose:

"The Ingenuity Pathways Analysis (IPA) software used in this publication was supported by the Biostatistics and Informatics Shared Resource, funded by the National Cancer Institute Cancer Center Support Grant P30 CA168524, and the Kansas IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence Bioinformatics Core, supported in part by the National Institute of General Medical Science award P20GM103418."

To use IPA, you agree to be subject to and abide by this IPA User Agreement. Willful violation of this agreement will be treated as misconduct and subject to appropriate disciplinary action.
