Professional Background
Residency: Pediatrics at Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, MO June 2019 - Current
I grew up in Tehran, Iran and moved back to the US as a freshman in high school. I went to school at Ballard in small town Huxley, Iowa before I joined the biochemistry department at Iowa state university. During my undergraduate years I did research on a protein from the Ebola virus (pretty exciting) and therefore found a new love and appreciation for research.
At KUMC I joined the Chennathukuzhi lab during my PhD years and had a great experience working with a wonderful and brilliant mentor and learning about uterine fibroids; initiating my interest in reproductive science. I received my PhD in May 2017 and returned to clinics to find my love and passion for Pediatrics.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading books in my favorite coffee shops, discovering KC happy hours and watching my favorite shows.
PhD Mentor: Peggy Petroff Ph.D., and Vargheese Chennathukuzhi, Ph.D., Anatomy and Cellular Biology.
