Professional Background

I grew up in Rochester, Minnesota. For my undergraduate education, I opted to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a certificate in global health. During my time at UW-Madison, I had the opportunity to explore several different areas of research and developed my interest in the immune-tumor microenvironment, as well as an interest in precision medicine. Upon graduation, I continued to work in a lab in Madison, WI at the Morgridge Institute for Research under the direction of Dr. Melissa Skala, further investigating the relationship between genomics, metabolism, and treatment response using patient-derived tumor organoids. I also continued to collaborate with Dr. David Beebe and Dr. Jose Ayuso to further investigate components of the immune-tumor microenvironment using microfluidic models.

At KUMC I hope to continue working in the field of immuno-oncology and exploring new areas of genomics.
