Professional Background

I was born and raised in Colorado and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Denver. During my time in college, I worked in a psychology neuroscience lab and, more predominantly, an aging lab focused on the biology of Alzheimer's disease. Within the labs, I was exposed not only to translational research, but also had the opportunity to interact with research participants and those affected by diseases of aging. These experiences are what sparked my interest in medicine and eventually guided my decision to pursue an MD/PhD degree.

During my senior year of college, I completed my thesis on the effects of physical and cognitive exercise on cytokines and Alzheimer's disease biomarkers in healthy older adults. I continued working at DU during my gap year and turned my focus to the potential implications exosomes may play in spreading pathology in Alzheimer's disease.

I am looking forward to exploring my research interests in neuroscience and pathology while at KUMC.

Outside of research, I enjoy (attempting to) cook, going on bike rides, and getting outside and hiking/camping.
