Professional Background

I was raised in the Kansas City metro area and spent my formative years in Overland Park, Kansas. I attended Northwestern University for my undergraduate, where I pursued a combined bachelors and master's degree in biomedical engineering. I worked in the laboratory of Professor Evan Scott, investigating novel nanomedicine platforms for targeted drug delivery. In the summers, I ventured into private-sector medical device research and helped to develop novel biomaterials and investigate their applications.

After college, I spent two years as a research associate in the Proteomics Platform at the Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard. Under the tutelage of Dr. Namrata Udeshi, Dr. Samuel Myers, & Dr. Steven Carr, I developed proteomic techniques for the high-throughput analysis of the O-GlcNAc modified proteome. At the Broad, I also applied mass spectrometry-based discovery proteomic techniques to explore a diverse range of biological questions in partnership with collaborating investigators across the Harvard community.
