a228g039@kumc.eduProfessional Background
I am a medical student and physician-scientist in training (M3P7) at the University of Kansas Medical Center. My doctoral research concerned the role of neuronal mitochondrial dysfunction in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease. I am currently in my seventh year of training as a member of the KU School of Medicine Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) and third year medical student, having completed four years of doctoral work under the mentorship of Dr. Russell Swerdlow. I am committed to advancing the frontiers of medical knowledge in the realm of brain health and memory care, and expanding the clinical therapies available to those suffering from neurodegenerative diseases. As a student, my focus is on developing the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed as a future physician-scientist and leader, with an emphasis on academic medicine. My hope is to leverage these skills to make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, both at the bench and the bedside.
