Allison Makovec

Professional Background

Originally from Lee's Summit, Missouri, I obtained my BA and BS at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. During this time, I conducted translational oncology research using multi-omics approaches to identify novel biomarkers in hormone-driven cancers under the mentorship of Dr. Justin Hwang, Ph.D. As I enter my first year of the MSTP, I currently plan to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical and Translational Sciences to study breast cancer survivorship.

When I'm not studying, you can find me hiking at a national park (I've been to 20 so far!) and traveling around to visit friends, going to concerts, and exploring new places!
