M.D.-Ph.D. Physician Scientist Training Program

The purpose of the M.D.-Ph.D. Physician Scientist Training Program at the University of Kansas Medical Center is to prepare highly qualified and motivated post-baccalaureate students for careers as physician scientists in academic medicine and biomedical research. The program is conducted under the auspices of the dean of graduate studies and research and the executive dean of the school of medicine, with assistance from their M.D.-Ph.D. advisory committee. On average, students spend about 7-8 years in the program, the variable period usually depends on the time needed to complete their research and dissertation.

The University of Kansas School of Medicine and the M.D.-Ph.D. Physician Scientist Training Program welcome diversity in all its forms in order to create an inclusive and vibrant student body.
