KU Medical Center opened its new Health Education Building just in time for the 2017-2018 academic year. The new 170,000-foot-facility will become the primary teaching facility for the KU Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Health Professions.
Designed through a partnership between Helix Architecture + Design and coarchitecture, the spaces inside the Health Education Building provide technology-enhanced environments for experiential learning, including large learning studios, active classrooms, a medical simulation center, clinical skills labs, study areas, and spaces that enhance the social and collaborative aspects of learning.
