JaySTART Clinic

Students-in-training, under direct supervision of licensed physical therapists and occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, provide rehabilitation services to patients. Interpreter services are available.

Appointments and Hours

Presently, the clinic is providing services only via telehealth using online video conferencing to visit with patients remotely. Appointments are available Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Each session is one hour in duration.

In-person visits will resume this fall when it is determined safe to do so. Traditionally, the clinic sees patients at Kirmayer Fitness Center on the KU Medical Center campus.

Patients are asked to have a mobile device and/or a computer capable of running the free Zoom video conferencing app. Providers are available to assist with setting up the Zoom app.

School of Health Professions faculty and students transitioned to online videoconferencing to provide services to underserved populations when COVID-19 concerns closed in-person visits at the JaySTART Clinic. They overcame several challenges to successfully deliver physical, occupational, and speech therapies via telehealth.
