Faculty from the Department of Respiratory Care and Diagnostic Science are actively engaged in clinical experiences with the local community as respiratory therapists.
As essential health care professionals, respiratory therapists provide important care for patients at The University of Kansas Health System facing conditions such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and muscular dystrophy.
In addition, respiratory therapists help improve access to care for some ALS patients throughout the Midwest via telehealth services.
These KU faculty share special clinical expertise in:
- adult diagnostics.
- patient assessment.
- home care equipment.
