U-CHaMP Team
Dave Burnett, Ph.D., RRT
Burnett serves as the principal investigator on the U-CHaMP grant. He is also principal investigator on research grants studying cystic fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and long COVID. Two of these projects, including U-CHaMP, are funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration.
An associate professor in the Department of Respiratory Care and Diagnostic Science at KU Medical Center, Burnett also currently serves as associate dean for community engagement and workforce initiatives in the School of Health Professions. See his faculty bio.
Brandi Brenner
A Kansas native, Brenner is an outreach and recruitment specialist on U-CHaMP recruitment activities in Central and Western Kansas. She earned her undergraduate degree from Wichita State University and her graduate degree from Newman University.
Brenner brings a rich background in student recruitment and community engagement to the School of Health Professions.
Angie Huber
Growing up in Chanute, Kansas, Huber has always been an investor in people and her community. Since graduating from Emporia State University, she has managed programs that focus on student success and community engagement.
As the U-CHaMP program manager, Huber oversees the data collection, daily operations and activities of the U-CHaMP program.
Laneshia Neely
As an outreach and recruitment specialist, Neely focuses on U-CHaMP recruitment efforts throughout the Kansas City metro area and surrounding counties. She is originally from Lee's Summit, Missouri, and she obtained both bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Neely adds a strong background in student services, including recruitment, retention and advising to the School of Health Professions.
