The cost of an education at the University of Kansas is very competitive with similar programs across the U.S. Below is an estimate of expenses for full-time students finishing the degree program in four years.

These figures are for academic year fall 2020 to summer 2021 and based on the KU comprehensive fee schedule.

Any dollar amounts listed are general approximations provided as a guide only and are not an official quote of costs. This information subject to change by the Kansas Board of Regents and the University of Kansas.

Tuition and fees differ based on location of specific courses in this program taken on the KU Lawrence campus or at the KU Medical Center campus. The higher campus rate was used in in the table below. Students are assessed both campus fees if courses are taken in the same semester at both locations.

Note: beginning with the class entering fall 2021, the course requirements to complete this degree program will increase to 100 credit hours and impact the figures provided on this page.

Estimated total tuition and fees for non-residents

* Students will be assessed a class fee of $1250.00 each time they enroll in AUD 843 Clinical Practicum in Audiology. The total cost for this fee in the first year is $2500.00. The total cost for this fee in the second year is $2500.00. Revenue from this fee will be used to support costs associated with clinical education within the on-campus clinic and to develop and maintain a clinical skills training lab.


Additional Expenses

The following items are required for students, but are not paid directly to KU and the costs may not be determined by the program.

  • Students are required to register for Calipso, an online database used for clinical activities. This one-time fee covers all four years in the program.
  • Background check report: this one-time fee is paid by the student directly to reporting agency after admission to the program. See details. In addition, a drug screening may be required for students in the program participating at clinical sites.
  • Students are required to have a computer that meets the program's minimum requirements.
  • The cost for hardcopy and online textbooks is estimated to be $1,321.00 per year.
  • Students should also consider expenses for room and board, transportation and other needs.
