Overview
The Behaviors for Family Health Lab is dedicated to helping people live healthier lives for longer through participation in physical activity and other health behaviors.
The Behaviors for Family Health Lab examines the positive health benefits of engaging in health behaviors (like physical activity or stress reduction) for children and their families. We assess promotional strategies for health behaviors, uptake and scalability of programming in the community, and methodological improvements in assessing physical activity, indicators of health and intervention engagement.
Our research covers multiple populations across the lifespan, including individuals who are healthy, those at risk of a disease, people who are caregivers, or people diagnosed with a chronic health condition. Our work involves individuals from diverse social cultural backgrounds. Our lab has strong ties to clinics and community organizations, offering an ability to conduct both clinical, laboratory and community-based research.
