How to Apply

Ready to apply to KU doctorate program in physical therapy? Here are the steps you'll follow.

Application Steps

  1. Please review our full list of program eligibility requirements and PTCAS program page to ensure you are ready to apply.
  2. Complete the online application through the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS) at ptcas.org. Please submit all required materials directly to PTCAS and your application will be forwarded to the programs you designate. You will be asked to indicate whether you would like to apply to the on-campus pathway only, hybrid pathway only, or both pathways on your KU application. You DO NOT need to complete a second PTCAS application if you would like to be considered for both pathways.*
  3. Once your PTCAS application reaches “Verified” status, you will receive an email requesting payment of the $75.00 supplemental KU application fee. This fee is non-refundable.
  4. If you're accepted into the program without official transcripts at the time of application, final official transcripts for your undergraduate degree will be required to be sent from your institution directly to KU. Note: students receiving their undergraduate degree from KU are not required to submit final official transcripts.

* Applicants interested in applying for both pathways, please note that an offer of admission to one pathway does not guarantee that you will receive an offer for the other. If you receive an offer of admission to one pathway but would prefer to enroll in the other pathway, you may choose to decline the offer and await an open seat in your preferred pathway. However, if a seat does not become available in your preferred pathway, you will not be able to enter the program and will need to apply in the next PTCAS cycle. Once you have accepted a position in one pathway you are committed to that pathway and cannot switch to the other. Likewise, you cannot opt to change pathways at any point in the curriculum once you have enrolled in the program.
